What does my ticket purchase support?

Your ticket supports our 501(c)3 nonprofit’s mission to connect people of all ages, abilities and means to Duxbury Bay.  The tax-deductible portion of your ticket ($120) supports these completely free outreach programs:

  • Scholarships:  100% of qualifying individuals were awarded a total $125,000 in scholarships last year.  This covered up to four programs per year or 1 per season.
  • Adaptive Programs:  We've expanded our adaptive programs to include sailing, rowing and kayaking for those with mental or phsyical disabilities.  This includes the option of Exposure Days where students who are apprehensive about trying the sport can tour campus, meet staff and familiarize themselves with on-and-off water activities.
  • Veteran Programs:  This year marked the 5th anniversary of our Vetaran's rowing program.  This milestone came with a series of extraordinary recognitions from the State Senate, Governor, Executive office of Veteran Services and House of Representatives.
  • Maritime Adventures:  Through partnerships with Crossroads and The Boys and Girls Club, we help students with limited access to waterfront opportunities get out on the bay, build skills, and discover the joy of sailing, rowing, and exploring Duxbury Bay.

Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of our 650+ programs, 2.5 acre campus, 275+ boats, 150+ highly trained staff members, and the extraordinary experience that is Duxbury Bay Maritime School. Your support helps make it all possible. Thank you so much for being part of our community!

Tell me about this year's Opening of the Bay!

This year Opening of the Bay Weekend will consist of our Dockside Gala on Friday, May 22nd and Community Day, Saturday, May 23rd.  

The Dockside Gala is our biggest fundraising event of the year with a goal of $280,000, that supports our nonprofit and its outreach programming.  The event will begin at 6pm with our VIP party, which includes Board Members, Founders and Event Sponsors over $1,000 and will open to all ticket-holders at 7pm. Dine with us this year! From 7-11pm you will enjoy an open bar, live music, loads of food by The Chef's Table including passed appetizers, a robust sushi bar and raw bar, Montilios wood fired pizza, dessert & more! There will be wonderful ways to contribute to our nonprofit with lively fundraising events. The attire is cocktail!

For your convenience, trolley transportation is available. The $25 fee is paid directly to the transportation provider and does not support Duxbury Bay Maritime School’s programs or fundraising efforts. To reserve your spot, please email Meagan Peter at meagan@rockstarlimo.net

Community Day is a free event that supports our mission of Access for All.  All are welcome to enjoy food trucks (a portion of proceeds support DBMS!), bouncy houses, a dunk tank, kayaking, boat tours, live music, a raffle and other great activities.

Our Porch Bars typically feature a cash bar, food trucks, live music, and activities for kids.

  • June 18: our first Porch Bar of the season!
  • July 19: Giving Day Kick-Off Porch Bar
  • August 16: DBMS Summer Sailing Regatta and Awards Night Porch Bar including meet-ups with DBMS Alumni and Duxbury Newcomers & Neighbors Club
  • August 27: Advocate Council and  Lifetime Founder Thank You Party. There's still time to give and attend!
    • *Adovcate Council: those who have donated $1,997 or more this or last fiscal year.
    • *Lifetime Founders: those who have donated over $25,000 in their lifetime.
