This year, I’m walking in the Congenital Heart Walk for someone who means everything to me, my little dude Declan Scott. Declan is kind, brave, funny and the sweetest big brother anyone could ask for. He feels deeply and loves fiercely, and I am endlessly proud to be his mom.
Declan was born with a congenital heart defect and will inevitably need heart surgery in the future. This cause is incredibly close to my heart—not just as a parent, but as someone who believes in the power of research to change lives.
The Congenital Heart Walk supports The Children's Heart Foundation and their mission to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research. Every step I take is for Declan and for the countless children and families walking similar paths.
