Rappelling to stop Youth Violence.

In May of this past year, I got involved with Greater Miami Youth for Christ's juvenile justice program. After spending the past 2 years in county and state correctional facilities, mentoring women and teaching health programs, God opened the door for me to shift my focus to the youth in Miami. I spent the past 8 months mentoring in a juvenile after care program and all I can say is that if there is a way to end youth violence, it will be through building relationships throughout our communities. The vision: YFC has begun making moves to open 2 of their own community centers in the highest crime zip codes in this city. These centers will not only provide mentoring, after care and treatment programs for youth, but for the entire family. Why? Because YFC believes in building relationships, offering hope, and empowering the youth in Miami. The movement: I will be rappelling 10 stories down the Keyes Building in downtown Miami to raise funds that go directly toward the development of the 2 community centers. You can help by donating to the cause OR by rappelling yourself! Will you join me in raising awareness and investing in the lives of the youth in our city?
