About the OUR HOUSE 5K

The mission of OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center is to provide grief support services, education, resources and hope to the Los Angeles community. Every dollar raised goes towards providing essential grief support services to children, teens and adults.

WHERE?

Lake Balboa Woodley Park 6076 Woodley Ave. Encino, CA 91436

Please note that there will be bumps and curves along the 5K route and the festival area is on grass. Contact us if you have any questions regarding handicap accessibility!

WHO?

Anyone can participate – young and old – runners, walkers, the OUR HOUSE community, and greater Los Angeles community are all welcome! Many of our participants join as teams.

WHY?

Honor the memory and celebrate the lives of those who have died. The OUR HOUSE 5K is a day to share grief, loss and love, and to help sustain the services of OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center.

WHEN?

Sunday, April 14, 2024

T-SHIRTS?

What makes our event unique is some people choose to personalize their T-shirt with the name and photo of the person who died. For 2024, we are encouraging previous particpants to wear their personalized T-shirts again this year. If you're new to the event, you can choose to upgrade your included event T-shirt into a personalized photo T-shirt at checkout for $10. These must be ordered online and customized by March 31.

WHAT IS THE IN MEMORY CEREMONY?

The In Memory Ceremonies allow group members and the community to share with one another about their person who died in a supportive, clinician-supported environment.

IS THE COURSE TIMED?

No, the event is not timed. While participants are definitely allowed to run the 5k, we encourage attendees to walk with friends and family and share memories of their loved ones. There will be a timing clock at the finish line for those that do want to record their unofficial time.

ANIMALS?

While we love our furry friends, please do not bring your dogs as this is a pet-free event.

WEATHER POLICY?

The OUR HOUSE 5K: Walk & Remember will happen regardless of rain or shine, so no refunds will be given because of weather.
