Camp for All imprinted on my heart over 20 years ago, as a member of the 2005 Summer Program Staff (pictured). I knew I was going to a magical, heartwarming place where children and adults with special needs and chronic illnesses could DISCOVER LIFE, barrier-free. Over the next several years, I discovered LOVE, LAUGHTER, HOPE and HEALING through campers, counselors, doctors, child life specialists, nurses, directors, and other staff members. I did not just witness campers stepping outside of their comfort zone; I witnessed individuals soaring past their fears and expectations. I did not just listen to stories of challenges, obstacles, and survival; I turned my life into one of service in a helping profession. I did not just observe happiness and laughter; I observed the purest joys, the giant belly laughs, and lifetime memories and friendships in the making. I did not just notice individuals being brave; I noticed the relentless pursuit of possibilities and confidence. In the words of my own daughter, “I climbed the power pole!
