Going "Over the Edge" symbolizes having the courage to go where no else is going and do what no else is doing to reach at-risk youth and give them hope for a better tomorrow.
At the age of 16 I landed in Miami's juvenile detention center for the very first time. Scared and full of insecurities regarding my future, I felt as if I was drowning in a pit of despair. Thankfully, God used the darkness of my situation to introduce me to the light of the Gospel through a missionary of Youth for Christ.
The story of Jesus and the love of that missionary gave me purpose and a sense of identity. My life did not completely change at that very moment, but my future was radically impacted! Today I get to serve the very same type of kid I once was. The Gospel had the power to impact my future and continues to have the power to impact today's generation.
