The final stretch for Ox-Bow House!

Help me raise $50,000

Ox-Bow's Welcome Center

Dear friends: We are in the final stretch of raising money to purchase the Ox-Bow House property in Douglas, Michigan. This historic building has been a church, an Oddfellows hall, an athletic center and a library, and now its poised to become a permanent part of Ox-Bow!

When the Saugatuck-Douglas library moved out of the building in 2020, I knew Ox-Bow needed to move in. This building has afforded us a "welcome center" where we can reach new audiences, support our artists and tell our story, something that has been challenging from our otherwise concealed (but beautiful) campus. Already the space has brought us new supporters and recognition as well funds that go back to supporting Ox-Bow's programs.

The next step is to close on the building and then raise money for its renovation - a project that will be completed by Chicago architect Charlie Vinz. I'm thrilled to work with Charlie on this space as it suits his creative reuse practice so perfectly. Under Charlie's vision, Ox-Bow House will become an important destination in West Michigan to read art books, visit our archives, take a workshop or browse local and regional art.
