At the Cape Fear Literacy Council, our mission is to provide personalized education so adults can transform their lives.
We offer 1-on-1 tutoring and small classes for Math, Reading, Writing, English as a Second Language, Computer Skills/Digital Literacy, Test Preparation, and U.S. Citizenship. Our programs reach hundreds of adults each year and truly change lives.
Educating the public about adult low literacy – sometimes referred to as a “silent pandemic” – is also a vital part of CFLC’s work. Consider the following facts about adult literacy in our country:
Help Us Reach Our Goal!
Help the Cape Fear Literacy Council raise $200,000 in our #CampaignForLiteracy!
You can play a vital role in our mission with every gift. CFLC, with the generosity of donors like you, has helped:
- thousands of adults in Wilmington - and beyond - have FREE access to education since we opened in 1985.
- hundreds of adults enroll in workforce development and job training programs.
- generations of immigrant families prepare for - and earn – U. S. Citizenship.
These opportunities must continue! With your support, we can expand our programs so more adults and families in the Cape Fear region have the literacy and language skills they need. 100% of all donations will go directly to changing the lives of adults in our community, helping them meet and exceed their goals.
