About The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation
Established in 1971, The Xerces Society is a trusted source for science-based information and advice. Our team draws together experts from the fields of habitat restoration, entomology, botany, farming, education, community engagement, and conservation biology with a single passion: Protecting the life that sustains us.
Xerces is a 501(c)(3) organization and this work is supported by donors. To learn more about our work and get involved, please visit xerces.org.
I appreciate the many services invertebrates provide, from the well-known pollination of crops and flowers to the more obscure roles in breaking down detritus, nutrient cycling, and enriching soil quality. I also happen to think that a lot of them just look cool (more so the ones with legs rather than those without). My photo catalog is full of bees, butterflies, beetles, and bugs. For every $100 raised in this fundraiser, I will draw of name from all who participated to send an 8 x 10 print from my pollinator photo collection.
