About 10 years ago my soul dog Daisy came home from the Humane Society. They took great care of her while she was there, and each time she was returned to them before I found her. Daisy ended up being perfect in just about every way and she is missed every day.
Callie came home about 2 months ago now. She was rated extreme for fear and anxiety. Callie is still afraid of most people (and sneezes), but she loves dogs and she has definitely become my dog. She has become accustomed to choosing toys to play with from a big basket of them, going for 5 + mile walks, she has mastered napping on the sofa, and sleeping with her head on a pillow in bed with me.
There are lots of great dogs that just need a chance and the Humane Society does an excellent job of caring for them until their perfect person/family finds them.
