Why JA?
In partnership with the education and business communities, JA is transforming the student experience by bringing relevance, authenticity and application into everyday learning to energize students around academics and their future possibilities. Through integrated learning models focused on work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy, we will empower the next generation with the knowledge, capacity and motivation to thrive; to build a better future for themselves and their community.
Our programs have helped tens of thousands of students master essential academic and workplace skills and concepts, while developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills and teamwork.
To support young people during this pandemic, Junior Achievement is offering virtual resources to teachers and parents. These resources include the following:
- Junior Achievement USA Program Resources – These educational resources are online, organized by school levels from K-12 and are free and available for public use. Resources include a combination of games, apps, printables, lessons and more and are continuing to be updated. Information at: https://jaorswwa.org/programs
- Online Remote Programs –
- JA’s nationally-developed K-5 In-Class Programs, as well as middle and high school programs JA It’s My Future, JA It’s My Business, JA Personal Finance and JA Global Marketplace have curriculum available online for teachers to access so they can deliver these programs to their students.
- JA BizTown – The curriculum for our capstone elementary school program is now virtual and available for teachers to deliver to their students, though the simulation portion is not available we do have BIzTown Adventures available online until we can open town back up.
- JA Finance Park – The curriculum for our capstone middle and high school program is now virtual and available for teachers to deliver to their students. Teachers can choose to have students put together a budget on paper or to build a budget in a virtual JA Finance Park.
- For more information on any of the above listed programs, please contact info@ja-pdx.org.
- The Money JAR – Our locally-developed podcast has 150+ evergreen episodes about kids, family and money. New episodes are released every other week, and all episodes are available for download on major podcasting apps or the show’s website http://juniorachievementradio.com/.

Together We Are Stronger!
In place of our popular in-person JA Bowl-a-Thon, in keeping with current COVID-19 health and safety precaution, we’re introducing Play 4 JA, a way to fundraise for Junior Achievement of Oregon & SW Washington that culminates with exciting virtual (if restrictions are lifted, we will evaluate hosting an in-person option) get-togethers! Fundraise a minimum of $150 individually or with your company* and we can celebrate your successes in June.
Support the JA Mission!
Dollars raised from the Play4JA represent a significant portion of our annual budget, and your gifts directly impact our ability to serve students today and tomorrow.
As schools have been utilizing remote learning, JA has continued to serve students in non-traditional, creative ways. JA now has digital resources available for all K-12 grade levels. Our materials range from half-hour activities to experiences that can span several weeks – all of which are offered free of charge to students, teachers and parents at

We hope you will continue to donate and fundraise “virtually” through this website. Click on the "Help Support JA" button above and use the tools included when you register to help get financial support for JA. If you have participated in the past with the Bowl-a-Thon events, this is the same tool!
For those who have already registered or donated funds - thank you!!
We value your partnership as we work through this together!
