Hi everyone,

My name is Elizabeth Birks and I am participating in the 25th annual Paddle the Don event this year! I was born and raised in Toronto close to the Don River, where I grew up playing and experiencing nature first hand. Many different plants and animals rely on the green space surrounding the Don River, which is why it is so important to protect it unlike the past. I hope to pass on the same memorable experiences I had growing up to future generations. As a Master of Landscape Architecture student studying the importance of Toronto's ravines and their rivers, such as the Don River, I am determined to make a difference.

The Paddle the Don event strives to protect, regenerate and enhance the Don River watershed through your amazing donations. Your donation and support helps educate and engage the public on the importance of protecting one of Toronto's main rivers: the Don.
