I never thought I’d be writing this, but here we are: I’m dancing. At a gala. To raise money for an incredible cause.
Here’s the thing: I’m not a dancer. In fact, I’m so bad at dancing that I don’t even have two left feet—I literally have noleft feet. I lost my leg nine years ago, and while I can’t promise a dazzling performance, I can promise to give it everything I’ve got for PADS of Elgin, an organization that provides critical shelter and support to those in need.
Resilience has been a constant theme in my life. Learning to adapt, laugh at myself, and keep moving forward (even if it’s with a bit of a limp) has brought me to this moment. Dancing might not be my strong suit, but helping my community is—and I need your help to do it!
Here’s how you can support:
- Donate: Every dollar helps! Whether it’s $5 or $500, your contribution directly supports PADS’ mission of delivering shelter, hope, and dignity.
- Share: Spread the word! Share my page with your friends, family, and even your least coordinated coworkers. Let’s make a difference together.
Thank you for standing by me as I step (or wobble) outside my comfort zone for something so important. Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait to (awkwardly) dance my heart out for PADS of Elgin!
Let’s do this—together!
