Help Children Like Murphy at Parc Center for Disabilities!
You can IMPACT a child's life!
I am deeply honored to work at Parc Center for Disabilities. Every day, I have the privilege of witnessing children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities strive for their best and embrace life with joy and courage. This work is personal for me. As the father of a son with an intellectual disability, I know firsthand the struggles, the trials, and the profound celebrations that come with this journey. I often say, I’m a better father than I ever would have been if I had a son without neurodiversities. At Parc, I’m constantly reminded of new families that need help, just like mine almost 30 years ago. Every day, another child is diagnosed with autism, begins speech therapy, or starts to learn how to navigate a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming. One of those children is Murphy. I met Murphy just a few months ago, walking down the hallway on his way to speech therapy. Murphy is on the autism spectrum and came to Parc nonverbal. But in May, something incredible happened—Murphy spoke his first words: “Red” and “Blue.” There was a celebration across the entire Parc campus that day—because when one child finds their voice, we all rejoice. But Murphy’s journey didn’t stop there. On Halloween, I joined our staff and other families as our preschoolers enjoyed Parc’s annual “Trunk or Treat.” It was a beautiful morning filled with laughter, costumes, and creativity. As dozens of children made their way past me, I saw Murphy. As Murphy approached me, he said, “Trick or Treat!” I handed him some candy, my heart already full—and then, he said, “Thank you.” In that moment, I was the one speechless. I was witnessing a miracle. And that’s what your support makes possible at Parc Center for Disabilities—real, life-changing miracles for children like Murphy and families similar to mine. Please give what you can today. Because every contribution helps another child find their voice, take their first step, or experience the joy of being understood. Together, we make miracles happen.
