Behind every person with a developmental disability is a caregiver—someone who shows up every day with love, patience, and strength. They are parents, siblings, spouses, and grandparents who give their time, energy, and often their entire lives to ensure their loved ones are safe, supported, and thriving.
At Parc Center for Disabilities, we believe caregivers deserve care too.
Our Caregiver Relief Services program offers short-term, professional care for families caring for children with disabilities—giving families the chance to rest, recharge, and take care of themselves. Whether it’s a few hours to run errands, attend a doctor’s appointment, or simply breathe, this service provides peace of mind and emotional renewal.
It’s not just about time off. It’s about preserving the family unit—and preventing the unthinkable.
Children with disabilities are four times more likely to experience neglect or abuse. Often, these incidents aren’t intentional—they’re the result of exhaustion, isolation, and lack of support. Just five hours of respite care a week can make all the difference.
When you give, you’re telling our families: You matter. Your mental health matters. We see you.
You’re helping someone like Luiz, a single mother caring for her 14-year-old daughter with Down syndrome. With Caregiver Relief Services, Luiz gets a few hours each week to rest, reset, and reconnect with herself—knowing her daughter is in trusted hands.
You’re helping someone like Sheryl, a grandmother caring for her 19-year-old grandson with cerebral palsy. After surviving a heart attack, Parc gives her the space to attend her own medical appointments and maintain her health.
These aren’t just stories. These are real families in our community. And they need us—now more than ever.
This Giving Tuesday, let’s come together to support the unsung heroes among us. Your donation—big or small—helps us say to every caregiver:
“You’re not alone. We see you.”
Thank you for being part of the Parc family. Thank you for giving hope, healing, and strength to our community.
