Hi Everyone - 

I'm sure all of you know that animals are near and dear to my heart, and I became a true advcoate of rescue the moment I fell in love with Gil, who was rescued from a shelter in Texas and shipped up to Rhode Island, where Chris & I picked him up when he was just 9 weeks old and nothing but 5 pounds of skin and bones. I know from personal experience and from my work in various organizations that animals are truly special and they make our lives better. And because of the love I receive from Gil & Khaleesi each day - and the love and healing I've seen animals provide to people in need - I want to make sure their lives are better too. 

Paws4ever is a special organization that does so much to help animals and their people. We work to build and grow lifetime relationships and, in doing so, aim to reduce the number of adoptable animals that die every day just because there isn't enough space in a shelter to house them. According to the ASPCA, approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year in shelters across the United States. Paws4ever - through our adoptions, training, and education - is working hard to reduce this number - and to support pet owners in forging long-lasting relationships with their pets in the process.

Although I can't run on Oct. 10th because I will be working at the event, I will be running a 4K on my own the following weekend and our staff team will be completing the 1/2 mile walk together the following week. I will be running and walking for Gil - who has made my life infinitely better - and for Khaleesi - who just joined our family this year.
