We adopted Murphy in December from Broward Humane Society and discovered within 24 hours he had double hip dysplasia. He couldn't run jump or play without easy injury and great pain leaving unable to walk. Correcting this would require double FHO surgery which cost $2000 per hip on average. Adoption from a shelter has a stigma due to these type of issues in seemingly healthy dogs so what came next was shocking. The humane society took total responsibility and did both hips at no cost while treating him with priceless love and care. Every visit for us was extremely difficult, watching countless babies being abandoned while the employees do their best to stay strong and be understanding. It's our hope and goal to pay back what it would usually cost and donate an extra thousand so that the Humane society can continue to save these sweet babies that would've otherwise been given up on.
The funds raised here will directly benefit the thousands of animals helped by the Humane Society of Broward County. Every dollar supports them as they provide veterinary care, food, shelter and much much more to every animal they see. In 2021, they placed over 4,100 animals into "furever" homes and I want to help them help EVEN MORE!
