Lace up your sneakers and get ready for PetsWALK Presented by Animal Emergency & Specialty Center – a family-friendly fun run charity event for everyone! Whether you’re walking with or without a dog, this event is for you!

Enjoy stunning water views and a gentle, mostly-flat course alongside beautiful Liberty Bay in Downtown Poulsbo. PetsWALK offers two course options: a 5K for those ready to go the distance, or a 1-mile option for a shorter walk at your own pace. While the event is pet-friendly, you do not need to bring a dog to participate – it’s a walk for all!

After the walk/run, head over to the Finn-ish Line Festival at Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park for an exciting vendor fair! Explore pet-centered vendors, handmade products, and enjoy live music with a DJ. Plus, the fun doesn’t stop there – pet contests will be held after the race, including Talent, Costume, and Wiggle-Butt competitions! It’s a pawsitively fun way to wrap up the event.

By participating and fundraising, you’re helping us reach our goal of $40,000 to provide comfort and expert medical care to thousands of animals in Kitsap County. Your generous support ensures each pet receives the care they need to become strong, healthy, and ready to be adopted into loving homes.

Event Details

Step 1: Register

Each registration comes with a Kitsap Humane Society bandana, a discount on PetsWALK apparel, day-of-event access, and access to personal fundraising tools to help you raise money for the animals while unlocking awesome prizes. Sign up online, form a team, and invite your friends and family to join you in supporting KHS! 

Step 2: Fundraise

Once you've registered, you and your pack can start fundraising for our shelter pets today. You can easily set up a fundraising page to share with your friends and family to raise money for Kitsap Humane Society. Check out the Fundraising Prizes tab to see the selection of great prizes you'll earn as you fundraise.

Step 3: Walk, run, and join the fun!

Join us on Saturday, June 7th in Downtown Poulsbo for your favorite PetsWALK traditions including the 5K walk/run (with a 1-mile option), vendor fair, contests, and adorable, adoptable animals. You can participate with or without your furry family members! All registered walkers will receive a Kitsap Humane Society bandana. Please note: T-Shirts will be available for purchase on the Apparel Store tab. All registered walkers will receive a promo code for a discount on their PetsWALK merchandise to use once the store is open.

  • Race starts at 9:00 a.m. at Lion's Park

Meet Our 2025 Spokespets Tess and Finn

Meet our amazing PetsWALK 2025 spokespets, Finn and Tess!

Both Jack Russell Terriers, 12-year-old Finn (right) and 3-year-old Tess (left) could not be more different! As the older dog, Finn loves to share his woofs of wisdom with the more energetic Tess, but she’s more content doing her own thing!

What the two do have in common is their love for adventure. These active pups walk around 3-5 miles with their mom every day. Whether it be wooded trails, beaches, or anywhere else, these pups love to get out and explore the world around them, making them excellent advocates for a 5K like PetsWALK. 

They’re proud to be this year’s spokespets, as is their mom, who supports Kitsap Humane Society because of her passion for animals.  

“We started doing PetsWalk in 2016, and have continued to participate every year”.

They take their spokespet duties very seriously, with Finn serving as the highest individual fundraiser every year! 

“KHS is so invested in the community and the community is so invested with KHS - which I believe is what makes it such an amazing organization. KHS is truly on the leading edge, and I want to help that continue.” 

Finn has amassed a large following of social media friends, using that platform to raise awareness of KHS’s mission. With newbie Tess joining in on the effort, we can’t wait to see what these pups accomplish!

“We love attending PetsWalk in person because we get to see people and their pets having a great time together.... Pets are family, and seeing these families out enjoying themselves is what makes it the best!”

Join Tess, Finn, and hundreds of other pet lovers at PetsWALK 2025, presented by Animal Emergency & Specialty Center on Saturday, June 7. PetsWALK is an all-ages event and leashed pets are welcome. Pick up samples, learn about animal health, meet amazing local businesses and nonprofits, and more!
