Dr. Jonathan Reuning-Scherer is the Director of Music at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hartford and also a senior lecturer of statistics at Yale University. He holds degrees in Piano Performance and Mathematics (B.M., Oberlin Conservatory), Choral Conducting (M.M., Yale University), where he studied with Martin Jean and Marguerite Brooks. Jonathan was appointed as Music Director of the West Hartford Summer Arts Festival in 2019 and works regularly as a conductor and accompanist in the Hartford area. Recently, he became a board-member of the Hartt School of Music. Jonathan also has two terrific children - Joel, who is currently an undergraduate engineering major at Valparaiso University and Stephanie who has appeared in a variety of summer musical productions.
Stephanie Reuning-Scherer recently played the lead role of Janet in Conard High School's production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. She also has appeared in West Hartford Summer Festival Productions of LEGALLY BLONDE (Elle Woods), and THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Wednesday). Stephanie has appeared in Conard musicals SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and URINETOWN.
