My Personal Fundraising Page

I am hoping to raise money in support of my friend who lost her son due to preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome-she will be running a half marathon in April on behalf of the Preeclampsia Foundation. Please see her story below and consider making a donation so we can join her in her efforts to fund education and research into this life-threatening disorder of pregnancy.

Why Run For Shayne?

April 19th, 2016 changed our lives forever when our son Shayne Granath Dumaresq was born still. We imagined an exciting and fulfilling life with him, but preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome stole our dreams before they could take shape. Nothing will erase the pain of our loss, but I wanted to find a way to honor Shayne and make meaning out of grief that is often times impossible to bear. I will be running the RunAPalooza Half Marathon on April 11th, 2026 in an effort to raise money and awareness for The Preeclampsia Foundation so others will not endure the same heartache that Brian and I have.

Every step will be for Shayne.
Every mile will be for the mothers and babies still at risk.
Every donation supports the Preeclampsia Foundation’s mission to ensure that what happened to us doesn’t happen again.

This half marathon is not just a race; it’s a promise.
A promise that our son will continue to make a difference for others.
A promise that his story will light the way toward awareness, early detection, better education, and ultimately toward lives saved.

To everyone who runs beside me, shows me support, or donates: THANK YOU. Your kindness and generosity help turn Shayne’s legacy into something powerful and life-changing. We do not want to be defined only by loss, we want to take action and show how grief can be transformed into purpose when we use it to help others.

And as I cross the finish line, I will carry Shayne with me and hope that his story will continue to inspire and help others.

With love and appreciation,

Jennifer
