Debbie's Walking Crew is joining PFF to walk for a cure in Chicago in 2025. We started walking with PFF in 2024 to honor Deb Banker after her passing in early 2024. Debbie was the epitome of love, care, and kindness in her work and everyday life. Debbie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid gardener with her son Ian, a die-hard Bears fan with her son Colin, and a keen supporter of any hobby her son Jason got into. Debbie's journey with PF started several years before her passing. The illness progressed quickly during covid which led to her needing a lung transplant. She received that lung transplant in December of 2023, but complications from the transplant led to her passing in April of 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
The PFF Walk supports the Foundation’s efforts to accelerate research, advance improved care for those living with the disease, and provide unequaled support and education resources for patients, caregivers, family members, and healthcare providers.
