2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation's founding. Since its founding, the PFF has been at the forefront of helping to accelerate the development of new treatments and ultimately a cure for pulmonary fibrosis. Until this goal is achieved, the PFF is committed to advancing improved care of patients with PF and providing unequaled support and education resources for patients, caregivers, family members, and health care providers.
Nine years ago, when our beloved Tom was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, we were told not to research because we would not like what we found. When he passed six months later, all of us were lost and confused as to what had just happened. We wish we had been directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation to understand better what he was going through and how we could best help him. Since then, we have also lost one of our guiding lights, Emil "Papa" Ferrarini.
Our goal in helping the PFF is to ensure that no other family experiences what we did by losing two extraordinary men in our families. That is why our goal for team "Tom and Papa" this year is to raise $2,500 in honor of the PFF's 25th Anniversary.
