It’s that time again! The PFF Walk will take place in Chicago on September 20th. This year also marks 25 years for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Being a part of their journey over the years has been incredibly rewarding, and your on-going commitment, moving.
Our first exposure to the Foundation was when our father, Jack, was in his end stage of PF. We lost him in 2010. Not knowing anything about PF, attended the first international IPF Summit (since renamed to the PFF Summit) in Chicago in 2011. Attending this summit and listening to the faculty was life changing.
In 2012 Jack’s Team was created to walk for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in the “Hike for Lung Health” event in Chicago. Sadly, just before the walk, we learned that our dear uncle, Ron, was just diagnosed with IPF. This devastating news further cemented our commitment to help the PFF with their mission.
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation broke as a charity partner from the Hike for Lung Health in 2017 to launch the PFF Walk. Participating in this walk was awe-inspiring and we were so proud to share this experience with so many others in the PF community. As we prepare for the Walk this year, we want to thank you and once again ask for your help.
