Together toward a cure for pulmonary fibrosis
Your donation gets our team one step closer to our goal

This year we’re walking in honor of Hector Aberastury — husband, dad of 4, grandpa of 6, and great-grandpa of 3. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and when he came to the U.S. with his wife Stella, they started a little empanada business that turned into something much bigger. Around here, he was simply known as “the empanada man.”
In 2021, Hector was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). It’s a disease without a cure, and in early 2025, we had to say goodbye.
We’re joining the PFF Walk 2025 to raise money for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation — because families like ours deserve better options, better care, and ultimately, a cure. The PFF funds research, supports patients and caregivers, and gives hope to people living with PF right now.
Every step we take and every dollar raised gets us closer. If you’re able, we’d love for you to donate, walk, or simply share Hector’s story. Thanks for helping us honor his memory and fight for the future.
