On Sunday, March 1, 2026 I will participate (ten-plus years!) in Polar Plunge® Chicago for Special Olympics Illinois presented by Special Children's Charities. I am excited to take on the challenge and jump into Lake Michigan's chilly -- albiet icy this year -- waters to support thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities. With your support, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
As some of you know, my friend has a special-needs son, Noah, who I love very much. Because he is technically a ward of DCFS, I am not able to post any photos, etc. Noah does not, at this time, benefit from Special Children's Charities, but I have come to realize watching my friend foster Noah, that it takes outside resources to help those with intellectual disabilities.
