As you know, my son Christopher has a rare genetic condition called Phelan-McDermid Syndrome (or 22q13 deletion syndrome), which is caused by a deletion of DNA on chromosome 22.  Individuals with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, including Christopher, have cognitive disabilities, struggle to have verbal language skills, have developmental delays, have fine and gross motor skill issues, and have other behavioral issues.
