Since the end of 2009, Arlin has run a small real estate investment firm (Centura Capital) making real estate investments throughout the eastern United States. Prior to forming Centura Capital, he managed Argosy Real Estate for five years, running a series of private equity commercial real estate investment funds. Previously Arlin had created and managed a substantial real estate and venture capital portfolio for Firstrust Bank, a commercial bank based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for seven years. For the fourteen years prior, he worked at Firstrust Bank with many areas of responsibility, eventually rising to the position of Chief Operating Officer.
Arlin earned a JD from Boston University School of Law in 1983, a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1979, and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College in 1977.
He maintains his license to practice law in Pennsylvania. He has conducted real estate mediation on both a professional and pro bono basis. Arlin is a former elected Haverford Township Committee Person, and was appointed to be on the Delaware County Authority, for which he now serves as Chair.
Arlin is a Board Member of the Lankenau Medical Center Foundation and the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia. In addition, he serves as Chair for City Year Philadelphia’s board. His family has been an enthusiastic supporter of City Year Philadelphia since it was brought here 25 years ago. To round out his philanthropic work, he is on the Grants Committee of the Green Family Foundation.
In the past, he has served on the Boards of The Haverford School, The Philadelphia Zoo, Gladwyne Montessori School, and The Philadelphia Film Society. Adding to his other activities, Arlin taught a course on Family Business at St. Joseph’s University during the 2015-16 school year. Finally, Arlin has had experience in many other fields of endeavor along the way, including the film business and angel investing.
Arlin and his wonderful wife, Paula, have six fantastic kids plus their five terrific spouses, and three spectacular grandchildren (so far…)
