We adopted our first dog, Mister Puppy when he was about a year and a half old. (Yes, his name was Mister Puppy, but’s a story for another time.) In his first year and a half of life, he was surrendered three times. Three times he lost his family, his home, his toys, and everything that was familiar and a comfort to him. Luckily for Mister Puppy, two of those times, he was surrendered to Pet Alliance of Great Orlando. Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando accepts surrendered pets and does not euthanize due to space limitations. Pet Alliance works to find forever homes for pets like Mister Puppy. When pets comes in with behavioral problems (like Mister Puppy had) that may prevent them from being adopted, Pet Alliance’s team of behavioral specialists works with the animals to overcome those problems so that they can find forever homes. They do amazing work with very limited resources. 

Many of you know Phantom. We also have Phantom because of a Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando event. Both dogs have been such a source of joy in our life and we want to help others find the joy that comes from rescued animals.

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando was founded in 1937 and is one of the state’s oldest and largest animal welfare organizations. As the “go to” pet experts in Greater Orlando, they aim to do good things for dogs and cats and the people who love them. Their goal is to provide compassionate and knowledgeable services for pets and to be leaders in innovative animal care and veterinary medicine.
