Artistic costs that directly affect my experience in MYS exceed $100,000 each year. This amount covers our rehearsal space and concert venues, music, instruments sectional coaches, and most importantly student scholarships, creating excellent orchestral education possible for all! Hello, my name is Claire Schoonmaker and I play in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Minnesota Youth Symphonies (MYS). I have played flute for 5 years. My favorite part of MYS rehearsals is when we all tune together and try to get our best sounds. MYS is important to me because it is one of the only places that I get to play alongside other dedicated muscians who love to play their instrument.
