How to Dip!

Thank you for your support of River Hospital's

35th Annual Polar Bear Dip!

 

Here are some steps to help you prepare for your dip:

 

 STEP 1: REGISTRATION & FUNDRAISING

  • Register as an individual or team and start raising money for your amazing dip!
  • All in-person Dippers must be at least 18 years of age.
  • If you want to form a team that dips together, please sign up for the Team Captain option. Once you form a team the rest of your group can join your team as Adult Team Members.
  • Create your own fundraising page (you will be directed to do this once you registration is complete). Even if you are part of a team you will need to create your own page and fundraising goal that goes towards the overall team. Get as creative as you want with pictures, videos, linking your social media and tell people why you are Dipping to support River Hospital or keep it simple with just your name and personal fundraising goal. All Dippers are required to raise a minimum of $100 to participate on the 22nd.
  • Share your Dip page with family and friends via email and social media for them to donate directly through the website with a credit card.
  • As you complete tasks like registration, sharing, adding content, reaching certain fundraising percentages of your goal and more you will earn Polar Bear Dip badges that will automatically appear on your page to show off how amazing your are!
  • Checks should be made out to “River Hospital”, the Dipper name or team name in the memo area. All checks received at the Hospital in honor of your team will be applied to your fundraising total by the Development staff the same day they are received.  
  • River Hospital strongly discourages you or your supporters to mail cash. 
  • If you receive check or cash donations directly you can add those amounts to your fundraising total on your fundraising page. Any donations you or your team directly receives can be turned in at registration the day of the event or as you receive them if that is easier for you or your team.

 

STEP 2: PLAN YOUR IN PERSON DIP

  • Have a fun individual or group costume idea? Give it a shot! There are awards given out for the following:

Best Team Costume, Best Indivudual Costume

Best Team Dip Technique, Best Individual Dip Technique

Most Money Raised by a Team, Most Money Raised by an Individual

 

STEP 3: EVENT DAY AND JUDGING ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 22nd

  • All registrants must check-in with registration to receive their Dipper number on February 22nd at Bonnie Castle. Even if you registered in advance, you are still required to check-in. Registration on the day of the event will be inside Bonnie Castle Resort 10:00AM-NOON.

  • Dipping Begins at 1PM! Allow yourself enough time to get in line with other dippers and be aware of your dipper number. Volunteers will be on hand to direct you and assist with line up. 

  • Be ready to take the plunge!

  • Awards will be held at 3pm inside Bonnie Castle Resort's Home of the Stars.
