It’s that time year again! The Polar Plunge is right around the corner! This is my 4th year of plunging into Lake Erie in order to send more campers to the sunny Camp Fitch. Camp Fitch has shaped my entire life since I began my Fitch journey 11 summers ago. From finding my Fitch family and trying new things as a camper to winning the Fleet Cup and teaching new skills as a counselor, I have always made meaningful and lasting memories. 

In the time since the last plunge, I have even switched my major at Penn State to Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management with a minor in Spanish. I'm thrilled to use my passion for camp to find such a meaningful major. Having Spanish friends like Hector and Alvaro and staff when I was little inspired my love for Spanish as well. 

Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the magic of Camp Fitch. From the moment a camper checks in to camp to the moment they leave, they have the opportunity to make connections with peers from different backgrounds, push themselves to try new activities like rock climbing or learning to swim, sleep under the stars, and enjoy nature free of the distractions of electronics and social media. 

Camperships allow campers to find their home away from home. Camp Fitch has meant the world to me and I’d like to enable those kids to have the wonderful experience I had. Even at 20, Camp Fitch introduced me to amazing role models like Kelly, Susannah, and Maddy Poese, Sue Barton, Lindsay Ibos, Becky Steffen, Lindsay Syms, and more than I could possibly ever name. Every person I have met through Camp Fitch has made me who I am today. I am so lucky and grateful for the experiences and opportunities I have gotten from Camp Fitch.
