Please help me support the Fitch for All Initiative -- because I believe in the power of overnight camp first-hand and want more kids to have it.

My Camp Fitch journey started differently than most of my peers. When I was in the 6th grade, I attended Camp Fitch wtih Tallmadge City Schools. I remember arriving to camp with all of my friends, excited for the adventure and exploration that was promised. That promise was certainly fulfilled, and I fell in love. I fell in love with the place, the people, and the mission of camp.

I returned years later as a high school chaperone to be a counselor for that years 6th graders. I realized that spreading the joy and magic that camp gave to me, was the most rewarding feeling in the world. Watching students break out of their shell, let loose, have fun, and BE KIDS again is the true magic that camp can provide. 

The summer after my freshman year of college I knew I wanted try something new, but I also still had this lingering love for camp. I decided to apply as a summer camp counselor. I spent that summer counseling Schooners, Galleons, and even spent a week in the Mackinaw fleet. That summer changed my life. I found the community of support I had been searching for. As the summer came to a close, I wasnt ready to say goodbye to Camp Fitch just yet. I signed on to be an Outdoor Education facilitator. 

The past three years have provided me with more growth opportunities that I could have ever imagined. I have learned hundreds of new skills. I have met people from from aroud the world and made connections that I will have for life. Like I said before, Camp Fitch has changed my life for the better. It has given me a passion for learning, for teaching, and for stepping outside of my comfort zone.
