Why I Plunge

I've been involved with the Special Olympics on and off since my college days! I started off in 2009, working with individuals with disabilities through the Chicago Park District and Special Olympics. Over the last 15 years, I've watched Special Olympics grow all over the Chicagoland area. The number of participants keeps increasing, which means more people can join in on different sports and events. It's been amazing to see athletes and their families break through barriers thanks to sports. Special Olympics helps cover a lot of costs for families, easing that financial strain. I've seen athletes ski, swim, and even go on overnight trips, gaining independence and making friends along the way. Even though I'm no longer with the Chicago Park District, I still feel drawn to Special Olympics because of the positive impact it has on families. I've encouraged our school to get involved in Special Olympics events so our students can push past their limits and discover their potential. If you can, please consider donating a few bucks to this fantastic charity. Your contribution will help athletes ski, get the right hockey gear, or even cover some summer camp expenses. Your donations will go straight to a wonderful organization!

There are three easy ways to support my plunging efforts:
