On Sunday, March 2, 2025 our Edison Park team will participate in Polar Plunge® Chicago for Special Olympics Illinois presented by Special Children's Charities, one of the city's most popular winter fundraising events! We are so excited to take on the challenge and jump into Lake Michigan's chilly waters to support thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities. With your support, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
Many students from Edison Park participate in Special Olympic events on a regular basis. Special Olympics provides our students with the amazing opportunity to receive year-round training and compete in organized sporting events. This year my students will compete in bowling, basketball, soccer, kickball, and track and field events. We are even thinking about adding softball and bocce! Special Olympics brings so much joy to my students so I can assure you that each and every dollar has a significant impact on not only my students' lives but the lives of many other children and adults throughout Illinois.
