On Sunday, March 2, 2025 I will participate in Polar Plunge® Chicago for Special Olympics Illinois presented by Special Children's Charities! I am excited to take on the challenge and jump into Lake Michigan's chilly waters to support thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities. With your support, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
The name Windy City Icebreakers is a tribute to the great leaders, high performers, and changemakers of Chicago willing to break through barriers (and, in this case, freezing cold water) to make a positive impact in the world. This is about embracing the cold with style and courage while raising money for a good cause :)

The event is on Sunday, March 2 at North Avenue Beach, 1600 N. Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Depending on what time we are assigned, the plunge will happen sometime between 10:00 AM –11:15 AM, and you should plan to arrive 20 minutes early. We are targeting 10:30am.
If you join, you get to choose whether you go knee-high, waist-high or go all the way under.
Free parking is available at Lincoln Park Zoo. The lot is located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive (2400 North Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL 60614).
Spectators are welcome
