Our Story
This marks Corkery's third year participating in the polar plunge challenge. Our school serves students with special needs from Kindergarten through 8th grade, who engage with Special Olympics in one way or another. Special Olympics generally covers expenses related to uniforms, transportation, sports equipment, ski rentals, and lodging accommodations for our students. We have witnessed the positive effects of Special Olympics on our students, particularly in social interaction, exploring new sports, and, most importantly, overcoming challenges they may encounter. Special Olympics provides our students with the chance to engage in sports that may otherwise be challenging for them, while also alleviating financial pressures on their families.
There are three easy ways to support my plunging efforts:
- Donate to our team fundraising page!
- Join my team and take the plunge with me at North Avenue Beach on March 2, 2025.
- Help us spread the word! Share our fundraising page with your friends and family.
