Planting *Pro Tip*
Winter is the perfect time to start a native pollinator garden from seed because nature does much of the work for you. Many native wildflowers need cold stratification - a period of winter chill - to break dormancy and germinate successfully. By sowing seeds in winter, you mimic natural cycles, resulting in stronger roots, better spring emergence, and plants that are well-adapted to local conditions!
