Raising Money Makes the World Go 'Round!
The "Why"
It all started on a Saturday afternoon in May of 2007. We didn’t have any plans but took a trip to the Potter League (old building) just for a visit. We hadn’t really thought about getting a dog, but that was exactly what happened … Let me tell you about why I am raising money and work for this great organization deserving your help.
Ginger’s story is one like many. Left abandoned in the south. She was and still is timid. She really doesn’t like to be held and has let a few of our dearest friends and family know she has her boundaries. But she is 1000% our treasured old lady. Now closing in on 15 she is showing her age. She once would power walk with us for hours. Now it takes the old girl 30 minutes to walk up and down Mann Ave. It is sometimes tough to see her struggling. I hope she knows she is loved by us both. Ginger is the reason I am working at the Potter League. She and so many other dogs, cats and small animals need our help.
Now, along comes Rita-rita. We met on a Friday afternoon in 2016. By default she was selected to be in, ironically enough, the PSA by WPRI for the Walk. At the time we needed a pup that would be calm and settled for the camera. She fit the bill and practically fell asleep while filming. After her debut I thought she needed some time to relax – so up to my office she went! She stayed there all afternoon, just chilling out in her little bed. Every once in a while, I would hear a little snore. She was content. When 5 o’clock came, I just could not bring myself to put her back in her kennel. I was doomed. And home to 23 Mann Ave – The Lodge she went! Rita-rita makes us smile every day with her constant snack finding, dinner-prep supervising and dinner-time dancing. She is just another dog that needed love and attention, care and tenderness that the Potter League gave her while she was here.
Will you help more animals? A donation of any size goes so far and helps so many animals in need. By donating to my Walk for Animals you will help provide life-saving support for countless homeless animals. Veterinary care, surgery, medication, extensive rehabilitation, and long-term care are always desperately needed. You can make sure those services are always available to the animals in our care.
