On April 27, I am participating in the Pet Palooza Walk for the Animals representing and benefiting the Humane Society of Charlotte. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization who has given so much to the community and to our family, too.

In March of 2017, as I was helping to give a shelter tour, I looked over into one of the kennels and saw a sweet, sad face looking up at me- and I knew I was bringing another dog home that day.

Milah came to us with some behavioral challenges. She is by nature a nervous dog, but because of the coaching we received from the behavior and operations staff at HSC, she has come so far. Not only has she overcome many of her fear-based challenges, she has struck up a friendship with our sweet, simple orange cat Gatsby and now they are the best of cuddle buddies!! Over the last two years she has grown into a lively, loving dog and she fills our lives with so much happiness that we can't imagine life without her now.
