I have never had cancer. This year a friend of mine named Joe passed away after more than a year long battle with pancreatic cancer, another dear friend's brother, Dennis is fighting his second battle with cancer, and there are many more. Next spring I am doing the 5K run, (most likely a mix of running and walking), in the Promise Run 2017 to honor Joe and Dennis. I have never had cancer, but cancer has affected me because my friends lives and the lives of their loved ones have been altered by cancer.
