The Pinky Swear Story

In December of 2002, nine-year-old Mitch Chepokas, terminally ill with bone cancer, withdrew the entire $6,000 from his savings account and put it in envelopes for kids on the pediatric oncology floor at the hospital.

After giving all of his money away, Mitch’s dad made a pinky swear promise with him to always help children with cancer and their families after he was gone.

Mitch passed away on April 11, 2003, and shortly afterwards, Pinky Swear Foundation was established by his parents to honor the promise he made.

Pinky Swear Clay Shoot is an exciting, one-day sporting clays shooting event for shooters of all levels held to support children battling cancer in Minnesota and their families.

Your day at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club includes free warm up rounds, a 75- target Sporting Clays competition, silent auction and dinner at one of the premier shotgun sports facilities in the United States.

Noon-1pm    Registration and Warm Ups
1pm        Team Sporting Clay Competition
4pm        Social Hour, Flurry Competition
5pm        Dinner, Program, and Silent/Live Auction

Mission: Helping kids with cancer and their families with financial and emotional support.

Families plan for college — not for cancer. Pinky Swear provides families facing cancer with financial and emotional support, including grants for stable housing, reliable transportation, utilities, food and weekend getaways. So they can focus on what’s most important: their child battling cancer.

Join our fundraising efforts and get your own personal page! You can track donations, join a team and use our tools to share your event via email and social networks. All fundraising proceeds will go to support the Pinky Swear mission in Minnesota and across the U.S.

As a thank you and reward for Pinky Swear Clay Shoot fundraisers, each participant meeting fundraising milestones will have a choice of fun Pinky Swear-branded gear.
