We’re All in to Nourish Children Together.
For too many families, the summer break from school is less about fun in the sun and more about coping with added challenges. The majority of children lose access to the free or low cost meals they receive during the school year. Childcare expenses often go up. Many families will turn to the Second Harvest network for help.
The Piedmont Triad Apartment Association (PTAA) is excited to partner with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. Hunger is a year-round challenge that doesn't take a summer break, and the PTAA is stepping up to the plate. This year's goal is 500,000 meals—an impressive target but one we know we can hit!
Every dollar raised on this page goes directly to Second Harvest Food Bank, who will use each dollar to provide seven meals through food boxes and backpacks as well as prepared community meals for families, children and seniors, and a multitude of other programs designed to combat food insecurity and meet the nutritional needs of Triad families.
We're also excited to Fill the Stands with Cans once again, partnering with the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Winston Salem Dash for Fill the Stands with Cans. On Friday, July 28, we will Fill the Stands with Cans at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game against the Winston Salem Dash. One week later, on Saturday, August 5, we will Fill the Stands with Cans at the Winston Salem Dash game against Bowling Green. Attendees at both ballparks can donate food at the game before enjoying a night of some of the best baseball in the Carolinas.
