The color we chose for this year's tournament shirt holds a special meaning...

Those familiar with the Pine Tree story know that Ron and Mary Ann Peterson created the PTATC in 1986 when their 12-year-old daughter Julieann was diagnosed with leukemia. Their mission was to raise money to provide the medical professionals at Children’s Minnesota a means and a way to research, while still being able to perform the crucial efforts of treating children with cancer.

Sadly, last September, Mary Ann passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family. To honor her passion for life and gift for making the lives of the people around her better, we chose light blue (Mary Ann’s favorite color) for our PTATC 2020 tournament shirt. Wear yours proudly, in honor of Mary Ann and the tremendous advancements in cancer research and treatments that have been made over the past 35 years with funding generated by the PTATC.
