Taking the Plunge in Honor of Randy

This year, I have decided to take the plunge.

On March 7th, I will be running into the icy waters of Lake Zurich in honor of my late husband, Randy. Randy was a loving, caring person. He loved his kids more than life itself. He was involved in everything they did, and he was my entire world. I am still struggling with the fact that he is no longer here with me and the kids. He was my soul-mate and I would have and still will, do anything for him. My love for him is unconditional. So, with that being said, I am running into the icy waters of Lake Zurich to raise money for Purple Plunge and to remind families battling cancer that they are not alone.

Purple Plunge is a local charity that supports families whose loved ones are fighting cancer. This organization is especially close to my heart because in 2024, when Randy was diagnosed with cancer, they were there for us.

Randy and I made a commitment then that we would give back to Purple Plunge. So now, in your memory, Randy, I am keeping that promise.

Anyone who knows me knows it takes me forever just to get into a heated pool — and now I’m running straight into icy water. That’s how deep my love is for Randy. That’s how much this means to me.

I am asking family, friends, and even those who may not know me personally to consider making a donation to this charity. No amount is too small. Every dollar raised goes toward providing support and raising awareness for families affected by cancer. I understand that times are difficult, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this message would mean just as much.

Thank you for helping me honor Randy by helping other families. Helping people — that’s who Randy was. And that’s the legacy I want to continue in his name.
