Late September 2024, my best friend Michelle had some routine blood work tests for her upcoming physical when her doctor called and said her hemoglobin levels were dangerously low, and she needed to go to the ER immediately.
Upon going to the ER, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which had also spread to her lungs. Things started to move really fast. She met her amazing doctor, came up with a treatment plan, and fast-forward 15 months later, I am so happy to report that Michelle is THRIVING. Her blood levels are back in the normal range, in fact, her hemoglobin was better than mine during my last check-up and her cancer markers in her blood are at an all- time low.
Over the past year and a half, Michelle, my bestie, my BIFFLE, has been an amazing fighter. I am so proud of her, love her, and want to honor her by doing the Purple Plunge with her on March 7, 2026.
