While Evie may not have been adopted from the San Antonio Humane Society, she was a foster-to-adopt from the local animal shelter.

When she was found, she had an awful upper respiratory infection that had already spread to her eyes. This caused her pain and blindness, and subsequently both of her eyes had to be removed. Her surgery and medical care helped give her a better quality of life and were paid for by the shelter.

Today, even though she can't see, Evie enjoys sunbathing, climbing the cat tree, running in her cat wheel and cuddling in the blankets.

If it weren't for donations and organizations like the San Antonio Humane Society, cats like Evie might never get second chances to find loving homes.
