CONTEST RULES

The following are general rules and procedures for participating in the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Contest fundraising competition, including requirements and rules of conduct for participating owners and their cats.

Contest Title and Duration

  1. The participating cat who raises the most funds during the Purr-fectly Fiesta fundraising competition for the pets at the SAHS shall be bestowed, by the SAHS, with the title of “Purr-fectly Fiesta” King/Queen 2025.
  2. The 2024-2025 Purr-fectly Fiesta photo fundraising contest begins August 8, 2024, and ends online at 6 p.m. on October 28, 2024.

Fundraising Platform and Procedures

  1. All online donations must be made through the Purr-fectly Fiesta – Qgiv Online Fundraising Platform. No third-party fundraising websites are allowed.
  2. Qgiv fundraising pages must be registered under the name of the participating cat’s legal owner.
  3. All donations gathered under the assumption of the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest must be submitted to the SAHS by the deadline. Any donations received after the fundraising deadline will not be counted in the contestant’s final total but will remain with the SAHS.
  4. Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest may not take place at an event where funds are being raised for another organization/cause unless approved in writing by the organization/event host.
  5. All donations made toward Purr-fectly Fiesta contestants must be monetary donations only. Donated items, such as pet supplies or merchandise, will not be counted toward the final fundraised total of any Purr-fectly Fiesta participant.
  6. Merchandise, including Fiesta Medals, sold by participants to raise funds for the SAHS’s Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Contest fundraising competition may not bear or be inscribed with a winning title (e.g., Purr-fectly Fiesta 2025).
  7. Donations should primarily be made on the Purr-fectly Fiesta – Qgiv Online Fundraising Platform. For the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest cash or check contributions will be accepted by appointment only and must be handed over, presented, and turned in no later than October 21st. To ensure these funds are counted towards an individual's fundraising total, please schedule an appointment with the development team before the fundraising deadline.   8. All donations are non-refundable and are not allowed to be transferred from one contestant to another for any reason.
  9. Should a contestant be subject to voluntary or mandatory removal from the fundraising competition, the fundraising efforts made by the contestant will still be contributed to the SAHS.
  10. In the case of a tie, the fundraiser with the most unique donations will hold the higher title.

Photo Submission Requirements

  1. Photo Guidelines for the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest need to have the following:
    • One cat per photo
    • High-resolution, Color Photo
    • Contain only cats (no people or other pets)

Participant Conduct and Responsibilities

  1. Purr-fectly Fiesta contestants can be dismissed at any time at the SAHS’s discretion.
  2. Purr-fectly Fiesta contestant winner will serve as an ambassador for the SAHS during their reigning year and can participate in various event-related activities.
  3. All media requests and/or inquiries related to the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest must be approved by a member of the SAHS PR Team.
  4. The SAHS has the consent of all participants to disclose total donation amounts raised during the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest.
  5. The SAHS has the consent of all participants to use any photographs/videos that include participating cats or cat owners and/or information provided by participants during the fundraising competition for use in any public relations efforts (e.g., website, social media, printed material, etc.) as it is property of the SAHS.
  6. Participants recognize that in handling animals there exists a risk of injury including physical harm caused by the animals. Participants must release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless the SAHS, its agents, servants, and employees from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands due to any injury that may be incurred or sustained by their participation in any and all SAHS events and media appearances.
  7. Participants recognize that with their pet being in close proximity to other animals, there exists a risk of injury to their pet including physical harm caused by the animals. Participants must release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless the SAHS, its agents, servants, and employees from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands due to any injury that may be incurred or sustained by their pet’s participation in any and all SAHS events and media appearances.
  8. The guardian and/or representatives of the contestant will refer all shelter operation questions to a member of the SAHS PR Team or designated shelter employee.
  9. All guardians and/or representatives of the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest must act in a professional manner throughout the reigning year and abide by the SAHS values of Customer Service, Adaptability, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Compassion.
  10. All guardians and/or representatives of Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest must refrain from making negative or inappropriate comments about the SAHS (to include shelter staff, volunteers, animals, etc.), Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest cats and cat owners, or other official Fiesta® events online or in person be it in a public or private manner.
  11. While representing Purr-fectly Fiesta and the SAHS in an official capacity, guardians and/or representatives are asked not to drink alcoholic beverages.
  12. All guardians will provide the PR Team with a primary telephone number and e-mail address that may be used to notify participants of upcoming event activities. Guardians must be aware that sudden changes in event activities location, date, or time may occur for any reason and will keep it in their best interest to stay in contact with the PR Team should a change occur.

Eligibility

  1. The Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest is open to all legal residents who own a cat and are at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
  2. All cats must be at least 6 months of age and current on vaccinations by the fundraiser deadline.
  3. Cats are required to be spayed/neutered, have a registered microchip, and be current on their rabies vaccination to participate in the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest.
  4. Participants must have a valid email address to register for the contest and to receive updates and notifications regarding the contest.
  5. The participating cat must be a domestic cat; wild or exotic cats are not eligible to enter the contest.
  6. All photos submitted for the contest must comply with the specified photo guidelines (one cat per photo, high-resolution, color photo, and contain only cats with no people or other pets).

Ineligibility

  1. The following individuals and their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, siblings, in-laws, etc.), as well as anyone living in the same household (whether related or not), are not eligible to enter themselves or their feline in the Purr-fectly Fiesta Photo Fundraising Contest: members of the SAHS Leadership Team (including the President/CEO, Chief Veterinarian, Medical Director, Director of Community Engagement, Director of Human Resources, Director of Operations, Controller), and staff from the Development and Public Relations Department and the Accounting Department.
