The COVID-19 National outbreak has impacted our nation in unprecedented ways. Unfortunately, many individuals with Down syndrome are susceptible to respiratory infections and other health issues, putting them at a higher risk for complications from COVID-19.
On September 19th, 2020, the Pujols Family Foundation will be hosting their first-ever Virtual Triathlon. They hope to bring our communities together, while practicing social distancing, and raise awareness as they continue to offer programs and services at no cost to the people they serve.
This will be my first virtual triathlon (or triathlon of any kind) and I chose to hike 1 mile, swim 30 laps of a standard pool, and jump rope or do jumping jacks 200 times.
How It Works:
1. Register here with your email and create an account. In step 2 be sure to "Join a Team" and select "The Fightin Phils". Then complete registration by selecting the category or level of participation that best suits you.
2. Choose 3 challenges: walk or run 1 mile - bike or cycle 3 miles - swim 750 yards or 30 laps of a standard pool - hike 1 mile - do 50 push ups - 100 sit ups - 150 squats - climb 300 stairs or steps - jump rope 200 times or do 200 jumping jacks
4. On September 19th, wear your shirt and your bib and complete your triathlon!! Video yourself before, after or along the way!!
