Event Overview

Participants are encouraged to create a dance video, no longer than one-minute long to be submitted in one of four categories:

  1. Individual
  2. Pairs
  3. Groups (No more than 10 people in a group and physically distanced or social bubbles for safety please)
  4. Animals (either your animal dancing on their own or with you or someone else)

There is no charge to submit your dance video.

Videos will be reviewed for content and once approved, they will be uploaded to the participant’s personal event page. The participant will be notified that their video has been uploaded and they can now complete the set up of their personal page. If submitting a video in the “Group” category, all members of the group are encouraged to set up their own personal fundraising page as part of a ‘Team’. The participants will each receive a unique URL that they can then send out to their network to secure votes for their video(s) in the initial voting phase.

Votes will cost $1 each and there is no limit on the number of times someone can vote. Phase 1 voting will continue until 11:59pm on October 30th. The top 3 videos that have secured the most votes in each of the four categories will move on to the live-stream finale on November 5th. The finalists will be identified solely by the number of votes received. $1 raised = 1 vote. In the event of a tie, the earliest submission of the tied videos will be declared the finalist.

There is no cost to join the live-stream finale but to receive the link, you must be registered. Finalists are encouraged to send the registration link out to their network to ensure they will have supporters during the livestream finale.

During the live-stream finale everyone who is registered will be able to vote one time for their favourite video in each of the four categories. These votes will determine the winner. In the event of a tie, we will add the number of votes secured in prior to the Virtual Finale to determine the winner.

The winners in each category will be provided with tickets to Prancing with the Stars 2021 (two tickets for the Individual winner, two tickets for the Pairs winner, one ticket for each member in the Group category (up to ten) and two tickets for the pet parent in the Animal category) and will be introduced as our winners from 2020 at the 2021 Prancing with the Stars event. Winners in each category will also receive a trophy.
