Signature Soirée Support
The proceeds from the Signature Soirée support the QCSO's mission and music education programs that serve 18,000 students a year! Your donations help us provide many of our education programs for free and underwrite financial aid for instrumental lessons and Quad City Symphony Youth Ensemble tuition so that all children in the community have access to high quality music education.
Quad City Symphony Youth Ensembles
The Quad City Symphony Youth Ensembles program consists of five performance groups (four youth orchestras and a youth choir) for students in grades two through twelve. Under the direction of Music Director Ernesto Estigarribia and an outstanding professional conducting staff, members have the opportunity to perform great orchestral and choral repertoire with the most talented young musicians in the area and learn from the mentorship of QCSO professional musicians.
Private Lesson Program
The guidance that a private instructor provides is paramount. Private Lesson Program instructors not only give students weekly instruction on how to improve musicianship and technical ability, but they also serve as trusted guides through various activities such as audition preparation, searching for the right college, and instrument purchase.
Boys & Girls Club Group Lesson Program
QCSO cellist Liz Oar teaches free group cello lessons to 2nd through 4th grade members of the Boys & Girls Clubs in Davenport and Moline. This instrumental instruction gives them advance preparation for when they enter their school music programs in 5th grade.
Musicians in the Schools
The QCSO provides free education engagements to more than 11,000 students in area classroom. Musicians give presentations on the orchestra and its instruments to elementary classrooms and provide sections workshops for middle and high school bands and orchestras.
Students @ Symphony
Throughout the Masterworks season, music teachers from throughout the community bring 1,000 students and their families to hear QCSO concerts for free. The QCSO also provides them with a student-oriented program book to enhance their experience.
Symphony Day
Every year, more than 6,000 4th and 5th grade students from 100 schools take field trips to the Adler Theatre to hear the Youth Symphony Orchestra (YSO) perform. They learn about the elements of symphonic music and the orchestra from YSO Conductor Ernesto Estigarribia.
